Senior System Administrator

Job Purpose:

To lead and support the IT Infrastructure team in managing daily operations and ensure the proper implementation of robust and scalable systems that meet the Exchange’s business requirements as per the IT policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities: 

Daily Operations:

• Follow daily operations relating to their own job to ensure work continuity
• Contribute to preparing timely and accurate reports that concern the Department’s line of work to meet the requirements, objectives, and standards of the Exchange and the department
• Ensure the satisfaction of both internal and external customers by addressing their needs in a courteous and timely manner

IT Infrastructure:

• Lead the IT infrastructure analysis initiatives in order to understand capabilities and limitations of the current supporting IT infrastructure, while providing recommendations to build and maintain a scalable and agile IT infrastructure meeting the Exchange operational and capacity requirements
• Supervise the implementation of proper monitoring tools to achieve the required benchmarks, and provide monitoring support to all internal functions in order to achieve of effective IT operations
• Ensure effective communication with project managers in order to successfully execute IT projects
• Assist in identifying the Exchange’s outdated technology assets to acquire constant system upgrades in accordance with evolving business requirements

Coordination and Cooperation:

• Organize the operations of all IT related Systems infrastructure aspects (hardware, servers and storage) in order to successful operations
• Coordinate with the IT Operations regarding directory management and messaging systems while ensuring network performance and support in accordance to the service level agreements
• Assist in monitoring infrastructure performance and availability in coordination with the IT performance management in order to identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions
• Lead the identification of opportunities to continue improvement of processes and practices by considering best practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction measures, and productivity improvement

Governance and Resilience:

• Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and processes in order for the work to be carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices, work processes, cost effectiveness, and productivity enhancement
• Promote to other employees within the organization the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and instructions
